Weekend Festival in Espoo/Helsinki
Weekend Festival, founded in 2012 by promoter Hardi Loog, is the largest electronic dance music festival in Northern Europe, held each August at the Luukki Recreational Area in Espoo. Its sold-out debut featured David Guetta and Skrillex, and recent editions have drawn up to forty thousand attendees for headliners including Armin van Buuren and FISHER.
Finnish promoter Hardi Loog founded Weekend Festival in 2012 specifically to fill a gap in Finland's festival landscape, which at the time lacked a major large-scale event built around electronic dance music and international DJ headliners despite EDM's rapidly growing popularity across Northern Europe.
