Assembly Summer in Helsinki
Assembly Summer began in 1992 near Helsinki and has grown into the world's largest demoscene party, combining live-screened demo, graphics and music competitions with an all-night LAN gaming hall and esports tournaments at the Messukeskus centre. It draws thousands of participants who bring their own computers rather than simply watching. The event suits visitors curious about competitive digital art and hands-on gaming culture rather than passive spectating.
Assembly Summer traces back to a first gathering in Kauniainen in July 1992, organized by the Amiga demo groups Complex and Rebels together with the PC demo group Future Crew, and has grown into the world's largest demoscene party and Finland's biggest computer culture event.
