Kainuu Music Festival in Kajaani
Kainuu Music Festival, first held in 2014 in Kajaani with headline Finnish pop and rock acts including Cheek and Michael Monroe, has become the Kainuu region's established summer music tradition. Redesigned in 2022 under organizer Nordic Live Productions, which also runs Vaasa Festival and other regional events, it now draws national touring acts to the area around Kajaanihalli each August.
Kainuu Music Festival, known in Finnish as Kainuun Musiikkijuhlat, held its first edition in 2014 with a lineup of major Finnish pop and rock acts including Cheek, Jenni Vartiainen, Haloo Helsinki, Sanni, Michael Monroe, Apulanta, Kotiteollisuus, and Klamydia, establishing the festival immediately as a headline-driven popular music event rather than a niche or folk-focused gathering.
