Lahti Fringe Festival in Lahti
Lahti Fringe Festival, first held in 2018 through an EU-funded urban culture project, brings around 150 international artists to roughly seventy venues across Lahti, including ordinary shops and a shopping center, following the open-access fringe format as part of the Nordic Fringe Network. A second edition ran in 2019, establishing an early annual pattern for the festival.
Lahti Fringe Festival held its first edition from 29 August to 1 September 2018, developed through an EU-funded project intended to build both a concept and a year-round customer service model for supporting urban cultural events in the city, giving the festival an unusually structured, institutionally supported starting point compared to many fringe festivals that grow organically from a smaller grassroots base.
