Qstock in Oulu
Qstock, launched in 2003 with around seven thousand attendees, has grown into the biggest summer festival in northern Finland, now drawing about forty thousand visitors each late July and building a long streak of consecutive sellout editions. It succeeds Oulu's earlier Kuusrock festival and has broadened from its rock and metal roots into a wider popular music lineup.
Qstock held its first edition in Oulu on 18 and 19 July 2003, expecting around two thousand visitors but drawing roughly seven thousand instead, with a lineup that included Sentenced, Negative, and Radiopuhelimet reflecting the festival's rock and metal-leaning roots in a region known for producing internationally successful heavy music acts.
