Korsholm Music Festival in Vaasa/Korsholm
Korsholm Music Festival, founded in 1983 in Vaasa and the surrounding Korsholm archipelago, presents chamber music performances by leading Nordic and international artists across historic concert halls, museums, wooden churches, and rustic archipelago rooms. Now approaching forty-five years of continuous operation, it stages around thirty concerts with more than one hundred artists each summer under artistic director Jan-Erik Gustafsson, appointed in 2023.
Korsholm Music Festival was founded in 1983 as a chamber music event centered on Vaasa and the surrounding Korsholm archipelago on Finland's west coast, and since that first season it has invited leading Nordic and international chamber musicians to perform in an unusually varied set of venues rather than a single dedicated concert hall.
