Festival Interceltique de Lorient

Festival Interceltique de Lorient began in 1970 and has grown into the world's largest Celtic culture festival, drawing performers from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Galicia and Asturias alongside Brittany's own bagad pipe bands. Held over roughly ten days each late July into August in Lorient, it combines a prestigious bagad championship, parades and nightly Fest Noz communal dancing, drawing crowds reported well into the hundreds of thousands.

Festival Interceltique de Lorient began in 1970 as a gathering of Celtic musical traditions from Brittany and the wider Celtic diaspora, growing over subsequent decades into the largest festival dedicated to Celtic culture anywhere in the world, drawing delegations and performers from Ireland, Scotland, Wales, Cornwall, the Isle of Man, Galicia and Asturias in Spain, alongside Brittany's own bagad pipe bands and traditional musicians.
