The story

Rock en Seine in Saint-Cloud

Rock en Seine, founded in 2003 by promoters Francois Missonnier, Christophe Davy and Salomon Hazot, has grown from ten bands on two stages into one of France's largest summer festivals, drawing roughly 40,000 daily attendees at the historic Domaine de Saint-Cloud park west of Paris. Its broad alternative, rock, pop and electronic lineup and easy public transport access from central Paris distinguish it from more remote rural French festivals.

Rock en Seine was founded in 2003 by promoters Francois Missonnier, Christophe Davy and Salomon Hazot, launching that August with just two stages and ten bands in the Domaine National de Saint-Cloud, a 460-hectare historic royal park in the Hauts-de-Seine department just west of Paris.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Rock en Seine's Domaine de Saint-Cloud setting, a 460-hectare former royal estate with formal gardens and parkland overlooking the Seine valley, gives the festival unusually convenient access from central Paris by public transport, a combination major rural French festivals cannot offer

02

The mystery stays covered

Since 2017, ownership by investment banker Matthieu Pigasse, later partnering with AEG Presents France for international bookings, has kept the festival's lineup competitive with major European festivals, building on its 2003 founding by three promoters who started with just two stages and ten bands
