Rhine in Flames in Bonn/Rüdesheim/Koblenz

Rhein in Flammen, or Rhine in Flames, is a series of five fireworks displays held at different points along the Rhine between May and August, each paired with an evening convoy of illuminated passenger ships. The largest, at Koblenz in August, involves up to 60 ships forming a parade over five kilometres long carrying an estimated 35,000 passengers past synchronised fireworks along the Rhine Gorge.

Fireworks over Koblenz in honour of the prince-elector Johann-Philipp von Walderdorff in 1756 are the historical reference point organisers cite for Rhein in Flammen, though the modern series in its current form dates to 1956, when Koblenz staged a fireworks display eleven years after the end of the Second World War.
