Mera Luna in Hildesheim
M'era Luna was founded in 2000 by promoter FKP Scorpio as a successor to the earlier Zillo Festival, inheriting its site at a former British Army airbase near Hildesheim. Held each second weekend of August, it draws a stable 25,000 attendees to a lineup spanning metal, gothic rock, dark wave and EBM, staged across a fresh-built main stage and a converted former aircraft hangar, with the elaborately costumed crowd itself a widely documented visual feature.
Concert promoter FKP Scorpio founded M'era Luna in 2000 as a direct successor to the Zillo Festival, an earlier gothic-scene event that had run at the same Hildesheim-Drispenstedt site, a former British Army airbase, before Zillo and its organisers parted ways with the location.
