Rock am Ring in Nürburg
Rock am Ring is a multi-day rock and metal festival staged on the infield and paddock of the Nurburgring motorsport circuit in the Eifel mountains, run as a shared-lineup twin with Rock im Park in Nuremberg since 1993. Camping fields surround the racetrack, and headline acts cross between the two cities across the same weekend, drawing one of Germany's largest music-festival crowds to a site built for car racing.
Rock am Ring began in 1985 as a one-off concert marking the opening of a redesigned, shorter Nurburgring circuit, and a turnout of 75,000 people made a repeat booking inevitable.
