Telecel Ghana Music Awards in Accra
Established in 1999 by Charter House, the Telecel Ghana Music Awards, known as the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards from 2011 to 2024, recognizes outstanding Ghanaian musical talent each April to June at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre. Long-running telecom sponsorship has funded expanded genre categories, regional touring concerts and school outreach programmes.
The Ghana Music Awards, now known by its current sponsored name as the Telecel Ghana Music Awards after carrying the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards name for over a decade before that, was established in 1999 by Charter House, a Ghanaian event organizing company, specifically to recognize outstanding contributions by Ghanaian musicians to their country's music industry.
