Yam Festival Ho in Ho
Yam Festival Ho is, in every traceable source, the same event organised by the Asogli State in Ho Municipality that is formally known today as Asogli Te Za and was known for years before that as the Asogli Yam Festival. Centred on the Dzawuwu rite, in which mashed yam is offered to gods and ancestors before the community eats, it climaxes each September with a grand durbar at Ho Jubilee Park.
Yam Festival Ho refers, in every source that can be traced, to the same annual harvest celebration organised by the Asogli State in the Ho Municipality of the Volta Region, an event more formally known today as Asogli Te Za and known for over a decade before that as the Asogli Yam Festival.
