Odwira Festival Denkyira in Jukwa/Dunkwa
Denkyira's Odwira is the only version of this Akan purification festival staged across two towns, opening at Jukwa, the traditional capital, and continuing to Dunkwa-on-Offin, the administrative capital. Rooted in the legend of the sacred Bankam stool's descent from the sky, it is explicitly framed as a religious rite rather than a harvest pageant.
Denkyira's Odwira is the only version of the festival staged across two separate towns, beginning at Jukwa, the traditional capital, and continuing through to Dunkwa-on-Offin, the modern administrative capital, over the course of several weeks.
