Kpledzoo Festival Nungua in Nungua
Nungua's Kpledzoo festival is a planting-season observance that precedes the wider Homowo celebrations of Greater Accra's Ga towns, built around named rites including the Nsho Bulemo pot-filling ceremony and a symbolic walk between Oyibi and Nungua during which the traditional dish kpokpoi is sprinkled to mark the end of hunger.
Well before its July climax, Nungua's Kpledzoo festival works through a customary calendar of preparatory rites, opening with the Nsho Bulemo, a ceremony in which sacred pots are filled ahead of the main celebration.
