Athens Half Marathon in Athens

A city-center distance race in Athens since 2012, starting and finishing at Syntagma Square in front of the Greek Parliament, with a 21.0975-kilometer half marathon plus 8km, 3km and 700m distances passing roughly forty monuments through the historic core, run each March and dedicated to Mikis Theodorakis since 2021.

The Athens Half Marathon started in 2012 as an urban companion event to the older Athens Classic Marathon, giving the capital a shorter distance race that could be run entirely within the city center rather than along the historic route from Marathon town.
