Lycabettus Run in Athens

An Athens hill race inaugurated in 2015, starting and finishing at the St. George Lycabettus Hotel, offering 5.5 and 11-kilometer paved road routes and 4.5 and 9-kilometer unpaved trail routes climbing roughly 300 meters up Lycabettus Hill, plus team relay formats, all within the city's Kolonaki district.

Lycabettus Hill rises around 300 meters above central Athens, giving the neighborhood of Kolonaki below it a distinctive skyline and, according to legend from the age of Pericles, taking its name, meaning path of the wolves in Greek, from wolves once said to have roamed its slopes.
