Chania Rock Festival in Chania
Crete's biggest rock and metal festival, running since 2002 with an early hiatus before resuming in 2008, now staged since 2022 inside the Theatre of the Eastern Moat, a Venetian bastion at the edge of Chania's old town, with a three-day late-July lineup spanning thrash, doom, gothic and alternative rock acts.
Chania Rock Festival debuted in 2002 with UDO and Anathema headlining, a lineup choice that set a European metal tone the event has largely kept for more than two decades since.
