The story

Corfu Mountain Trail in Corfu

A trail-running event across Corfu's mountainous interior, founded by islander Vasileios Alamanos and grown into a fixture on the European trail-running calendar over more than a decade, its signature Ultra covering roughly 103 kilometers with 4,200 meters of climbing from the port of Ipsos over Mount Pantokrator through traditional hillside villages to a finish at Corfu Town's historic Liston promenade.

Corfu native Vasileios Alamanos designed Corfu Mountain Trail specifically to showcase the island's mountainous interior and traditional villages, terrain most visitors to Corfu's beach resorts never see, and the race has grown since its founding into a fixture on the European trail-running calendar, typically held in early May each year.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

Climbing Mount Pantokrator, Corfu's highest point at just over 900 meters, around the twelfth kilometer of the ultra route ties this race to a specific, named geographic summit rather than generic hill terrain

02

The mystery stays covered

Its finish at the Liston, the arcaded promenade built during Corfu's French occupation, creates a deliberate contrast between raw mountain trail and elegant historic urban architecture within the same event

03

The city starts moving

Designed specifically by a Corfu native to showcase the island's traditional hillside villages, Spartilas, Strinilas, Sokraki and Lakones, the race also reaches parts of Corfu that the island's dominant beach-tourism identity rarely brings visitors to
