Kalamata International Dance Festival in Kalamata
Kalamata International Dance Festival has run every July since 1995, giving 108 international dance companies their first Greek appearance and staging 322 foreign and 136 Greek performances across three decades. Founded by Vicky Marangopoulou and now under artistic director Tzeni Argyriou, it remains Greece's leading annual event for contemporary dance, staged partly in Kalamata's Central Square.
