Ice Music Festival Greenland Sessions in Ilulissat Icefjord Centre
A late-February weekend of outdoor concerts staged beside the Icefjord Centre in Ilulissat, led by ice-music pioneer Terje Isungset performing on instruments carved from harvested ice inside a purpose-built snow amphitheatre, set against the backdrop of the fast-moving Sermeq Kujalleq glacier and its calving icebergs.
Ice Music Festival Greenland stages its concerts outdoors beside the Icefjord Centre in Ilulissat, a town roughly 250 kilometres north of the Arctic Circle sitting directly on the edge of the Ilulissat Icefjord, home to the Sermeq Kujalleq glacier and famous for calving city-block-sized icebergs into the bay.
