The Rabinal Achi is a fifteenth-century Maya dance-drama performed each January 25 in Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, and inscribed by UNESCO in 2005 as a masterpiece of intangible cultural heritage. Staged in the Achi language across four acts and 21 masked characters, it dramatizes a conflict between two Maya political entities, coordinated and transmitted through local cofradias.

The Rabinal Achi is a fifteenth-century Maya dance-drama performed in the K'iche'an language Achi, and its annual staging on January 25 in Rabinal, Baja Verapaz, represents one of the very few pre-Hispanic theatrical traditions to survive in something close to continuous practice since before the Spanish conquest.
