Aurelio Fest in La Ceiba

Aurelio Fest is a tribute festival in La Ceiba honouring Garifuna singer-songwriter Aurelio Martinez, who died in a 2025 plane crash near Roatan. Its first documented edition ran for five days in March 2026 at Hotel Parthenon Beach, combining a memorial drum march, career-retrospective conferences, art exhibitions and a gastronomic and entrepreneurs' fair.

La Ceiba organised its first Aurelio Fest in March 2026, a five-day tribute at Hotel Parthenon Beach built around the life and legacy of Garifuna singer-songwriter Aurelio Martinez, who died on March 17, 2025 in a small-plane crash near Roatan that also killed eleven other people.
