Chiu Chow Hungry Ghost Festival in Chiu Chow communities citywide

A month-long observance held across Chiu Chow community neighbourhoods in Hong Kong during the seventh lunar month, featuring temporary bamboo sheds, ancestor and spirit worship rites, opera performances and blessed rice distribution, recognized since 2011 as national Intangible Cultural Heritage of the Chiu Chow diaspora.

For the entire seventh lunar month, the Chiu Chow diaspora across Hong Kong organizes the Yu Lan Festival, a month-long observance recognized in 2011 on China's national list of Intangible Cultural Heritage under the name Yu Lan Festival of the Hong Kong Chiu Chow Community.
