Budapest International Circus Festival in Budapest
Hungary's biennial Budapest International Circus Festival, founded in 1996, ranks as an A-category world circus event, staged each January at the Capital Circus of Budapest, the only permanent stone circus building in Central Europe. The week draws circus professionals from across Europe who network alongside the competition's judged performances.
Istvan Kristof led a group that founded the Budapest International Circus Festival in 1996, and it has since been ranked as an A-category world circus festival, second in international prestige only to the Monte Carlo International Circus Festival.
