Judafest Budapest in Budapest

Organized by Balint Haz since 2008, Judafest fills Klauzal Ter in Budapest's Jewish Quarter each September with a free community picnic, neighborhood walking tours, Israeli cooking demonstrations, live music, and children's programs celebrating Jewish culture broadly. Many attendees describe the atmosphere as closer to a large neighborhood block party than a formal cultural festival.

Balint Haz, Budapest's Jewish Community Center, has organized Judafest since 2008, originally as a street festival that eventually outgrew its original location and relocated to Klauzal Ter, the main square of the historic Jewish Quarter in the city's seventh district.
