Kaposfest in Kaposvar
Conceived in 2009 by violinist Katalin Kokas and launched in 2010, Kaposfest brings over fifty internationally recognized chamber musicians to Kaposvar's Szivarvany Cultural Palace each summer, backed by municipal support secured after its successful debut edition. Musicians who first performed as students at early editions have since returned as established professional headliners.
Violinist Katalin Kokas conceived a large-scale chamber music festival for her home city in 2009 and approached cellist Gyorgy Bolyki, hoping the two might simply perform together, but Bolyki ultimately became the festival's chief organizer when Kaposfest launched its first edition in 2010.
