Szeged Youth Days in Szeged
Tracing to a 1964 youth carnival and renamed SZIN in 1968, this Szeged music festival evolved through a communist-era youth-league phase, a 1990s Rock Club revival, and a 2002 relocation into a modern multi-genre event drawing over 100,000 attendees each August. Many longtime Szeged residents can trace their own festival-going history back through each of its distinct historical phases.
A youth carnival in front of Szeged's City Hall in 1964 grew four years later into a citywide event renamed Szegedi Ifjusagi Napok, known by its Hungarian acronym SZIN, giving it a claim to being one of Hungary's oldest continuously evolving festivals.
