FEZEN Festival in Szekesfehervar

Founded in 1997 from a Szekesfehervar club scene, FEZEN grew from an amateur concert series into a major late-July music festival at the city's Elso Mezo grounds, now drawing tens of thousands to what tourism marketing calls the City of Kings. Several bands that first played the original Scooter club scene still return as headline acts decades later.

A group of young music enthusiasts in Szekesfehervar founded what became Fehervari Zenei Napok, abbreviated FEZEN, in 1997, drawing on a local live-band scene that had coalesced around a club called Scooter in the mid-1990s and prompted several bands to join forces around a shared audience.
