Secret Solstice in Reykjavík
Secret Solstice launched in Reykjavik in 2014 as a midsummer festival built around continuous solstice daylight, drawing global attention for stunt ticketing like a helicopter-and-glacier VIP package. The original promoter, Solstice Productions, was later liquidated after unpaid debts to the city and performers, including a Slayer lawsuit, and the festival's recent operating history has been inconsistent.
Secret Solstice began in Reykjavik in 2014, built around the summer solstice's near-continuous daylight and quickly became known internationally less for its music lineup than for stunt ticketing, including a widely covered one million dollar VIP package that included a helicopter trip and a concert staged inside a glacier ice cave.
