Known as the Rural Olympics, this farmer-organized sporting meet at Kila Raipur village near Ludhiana has run since 1933 under the Grewal Sports Association, built around bullock cart racing, introduced in 1950, tractor stunts, tug of war, and traditional feats of rural strength. The event is organized privately, not by a government tourism body.

Sardar Inder Singh Grewal founded the Grewal Sports Association and staged the first wrestling matches at Kila Raipur, a village near Ludhiana, in 1933, envisioning an annual meet where farmers from surrounding villages could test their physical endurance against one another.
