Karavali Utsav in Mangaluru
An annual coastal-Karnataka cultural festival spanning roughly ten days, centered on Yakshagana dance-drama, folk dance competitions, music and craft exhibitions alongside sporting events, bringing together talent from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts. Historically staged at Karwar and Panambur Beach, recent editions have also used Mangaluru's Kadri Park as a venue.
Karavali Utsav takes its name from the Kannada word for the coastal strip of Karnataka, and for more than three decades it has brought dancers, musicians and folk troupes from Dakshina Kannada, Udupi and Uttara Kannada districts onto a shared stage across roughly ten days of programming.
