Mahindra Blues Festival in Mumbai
Mahindra Blues Festival is an annual two-day blues music festival held each February at Mehboob Studios in Bandra, Mumbai, launched in 2011 by Anand Mahindra with VG Jairaman as festival director. It pairs international blues legends such as Buddy Guy, Walter Trout and John Mayall with Indian blues acts on the same bill.
Anand Mahindra, vice-chairman of the Mahindra Group, backed the first Mahindra Blues Festival on 5 and 6 February 2011 at Mehboob Studios, a former film studio in Bandra that producer-director Mehboob Khan built in 1954 and that had recently been reused as an arts venue after hosting sculptor Anish Kapoor's first Indian exhibition.
