Prambanan Jazz Festival began October 16, 2015, staging performances on an outdoor stage inside the ninth-century Prambanan temple compound, using its illuminated Trimurti towers as a backdrop. Despite the name, programming has broadened to rock, pop, indie, and soul alongside jazz, running across three days and managed by PT Taman Wisata Candi, the state operator of the Prambanan and Borobudur heritage sites.
