Sekala Bekhak Festival in West Lampung
Festival Budaya Sekala Bekhak, first staged in 2014 by West Lampung Regency's government, celebrates the heritage of the historical Paksi Pak Sekala Bekhak kingdom. Held each mid-to-late July in the highland town of Liwa, its centerpiece is Sekura Cakak Buah, a masked-performance tradition, alongside other named local forms including Nyambai and Orkes Gambus music, recognized in Indonesia's national tourism calendar since 2021.
West Lampung Regency's government first staged Festival Budaya Sekala Bekhak in 2014, named for and celebrating the heritage of the historical Paksi Pak Sekala Bekhak, a traditional kingdom or confederation whose customs still shape Lampung Barat's local identity.
