Isle of Man TT Races in Douglas/Mountain Course

Isle of Man TT Races have run since 1907, moving in 1911 onto the 37.73-mile Snaefell Mountain Course that starts and finishes at Douglas's Glencrutchery Road grandstand. Held over a fortnight each late May and early June, it is motorcycle road racing on closed public roads at speeds exceeding 130 mph, drawing riders and spectators from around the world to what many consider the sport's most demanding and dangerous circuit.

The first Isle of Man TT race ran in 1907 on a 15.9-mile triangular course starting at St Johns, made possible after the Highways (Light Locomotive) Act 1904 allowed public roads on the island to be closed for motorsport, something mainland Britain's speed limits did not permit at the time.
