Challenge Israman is a Red Sea triathlon in Eilat combining an open-water swim off the coast with a bike and run course along Route 12 through the Arava Valley's desert mountains. Running for more than two decades, it offers full Ironman-distance, half-distance and relay formats, and has been ranked among the world's most physically demanding triathlon courses.
Challenge Israman starts with a swim in the Red Sea off Eilat before sending competitors onto Route 12, a desert highway that climbs into the mountains bordering the Arava Valley, making the bike and run legs unfold against red desert peaks and rolling highland terrain rather than the coastal scenery of most triathlon courses.
