Jerusalem International Puppet Festival in Jerusalem
The Train Theater, housed in a converted 1981 railroad car in Jerusalem's Liberty Bell Garden, has run its International Festival of Puppet Theater every August since the following year, reaching past its thirtieth edition. The festival presents puppet, shadow, object and interdisciplinary performance work for children and adults from Israel and abroad, using both the theater's stages and the surrounding park.
The Train Theater, built inside a converted railroad car in Jerusalem's Liberty Bell Garden by four independent puppeteers who founded the venue in 1981, launched its International Festival of Puppet Theater the following year and has run it continuously long enough to reach well past its thirtieth annual edition.
