Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival in Jerusalem
Led by Jerusalem's Angela Dance Company, the Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival curates solo and duet choreography from artists across dozens of countries, running roughly a week each year at venues including the Jerusalem Theatre, the Hansen House compound and the Lev Smadar Cinema. A recent edition packed thirty performances by forty-five artists from thirteen countries into six days.
Led by Jerusalem's own Angela Dance Company, the Jerusalem International Solo Dance Festival built its entire identity around a performance format most dance festivals treat as secondary: the solo, along with its close cousin the duet.
