Tel Aviv Marathon in Tel Aviv
Tel Aviv's flat, coastal marathon dates back to 1981, lapsed after 1994, and was revived in 2009, running each winter along the city's Bauhaus boulevards and beachfront, a UNESCO-recognized architectural stretch. Alongside the full marathon, the event includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K, and Kids Mini Marathon, plus a dedicated route for wounded IDF soldiers.
The Tel Aviv Marathon traces back to 1981, running annually until 1994 before lapsing for over a decade and being revived in 2009, since when it has continued as an annual fixture on the city's sporting calendar apart from 2021, when the coronavirus pandemic forced a shift to a digital event rather than an in-person race.
