Pescara Jazz in Pescara
Pescara Jazz is Italy's first summer jazz festival, launched in 1969 and running annually without interruption since 1981, making it the oldest continuously active jazz festival in Italy. Held each July in an open-air 2,000-seat theatre in Pescara, Abruzzo, its historic lineup includes Duke Ellington, Ella Fitzgerald, Charles Mingus, Bill Evans, Miles Davis, Oscar Peterson, Pat Metheny, Chick Corea, Herbie Hancock, and Keith Jarrett across its decades of programming.
Each July, an open-air theatre seating 2,000 people in Pescara, on Italy's Adriatic coast, hosts a festival with a genuine claim to seniority among Europe's jazz events.
