ISSA Boys and Girls Championships in Kingston

Known simply as Champs, the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships trace to a 1910 inter-school sports day and now fill Kingston's National Stadium for five days each spring. More than a hundred secondary schools and thousands of teenage athletes compete, and the meet functions as Jamaica's principal pipeline into Olympic and World Championship-level track and field.

ISSA's Boys and Girls Championships trace back to June 29, 1910, when six of Jamaica's oldest high schools, including what is now Munro College, held a standardized sports day in Kingston modeled loosely on the school athletic meets of British institutions like Eton and Harrow.
