The story

Kingston City Run in Kingston

Founded in 2013, Kingston City Run raises money for vulnerable Kingston residents through a half marathon, 10K and 5K run/walk routed past Devon House, Kings House, the Bob Marley Museum and Hope Gardens. Paused during the pandemic years, the race has channeled more than J$15 million to charities including the Alpha Boys Institute and the Marie Atkins Night Shelter across its history.

Kingston City Run began in 2013 as a road race built around raising money for the city's most vulnerable residents, routing runners past Devon House, Kings House, the Bob Marley Museum and Hope Gardens on a course designed to double as a tour of Kingston's best-known landmarks.

What is special

The part that makes it specific.

01

The place changes

The race's defining feature is its landmark-heavy course, sending runners past Devon House, Kings House, the Bob Marley Museum and Hope Gardens in a single route that functions as a guided tour of central Kingston's institutional and cultural core rather than a generic urban loop

02

The mystery stays covered

Its charity structure directs proceeds to a fixed, named group of Kingston social-service organizations rather than a single general fund, giving donors visibility into exactly which shelters and programs benefit

03

The city starts moving

Three distance options, from a 5K walk to a full half marathon, let casual participants and serious runners take part on the same race day
