Kingston Music Week in Kingston
Kingston Music Week is an annual showcase tied to Kingston's UNESCO Creative City of Music status, spanning ska, mento, folk, rocksteady, reggae and dancehall across multiple Kingston venues. Programming mixes an industry seminar at the University of Technology, a showcase at Edna Manley College, and public concerts including a closing Conscious Reggae Party.
Kingston earned recognition as a UNESCO Creative City of Music, and Kingston Music Week grew out of that designation as an annual showcase of the six genres most closely associated with the city: ska, mento, folk, rocksteady, reggae and dancehall.
