Fi Wi Sinting in Port Antonio
Fi Wi Sinting, patois for something of our own, is a one-day African heritage festival near Port Antonio in Portland, founded by Sista P to fund her rural school. It combines a performing arts program featuring Kumina, Jonkonnu and Nyabinghi drumming with an African marketplace and traditional Jamaican food.
Fi Wi Sinting, patois for something of our own, was born out of a practical need: founder Pauline Petinaud, known as Sista P, created the festival to help fund the school she established in the rural Portland parish community of Content.
