Al Balad Music Festival in Amman

A biennial, week-long summer music festival staged in downtown Amman's al-Balad district since 2009, using the 2nd-century Roman Theatre and adjoining Odeon as stages for Jordanian and regional Arab musicians. Launched by Al Balad Theater with backing from the Greater Amman Municipality and the EU delegation to support downtown cultural tourism.

Al Balad Theater launched this festival in 2009 in Amman's historic downtown district, known locally as al-Balad, using the city's 2nd-century Roman Theatre and the adjoining Odeon as stages for a lineup that mixes Jordanian and regional Arab acts with occasional international performers.
