Jordan Trail Thru-Hike in Um Qais to Aqaba
The Jordan Trail runs 675 kilometers from Umm Qais in the north to Aqaba on the Red Sea, established in 2015 by the Jordan Trail Association and passing through roughly 75 villages across eight regional stages. The Association organizes an annual guided thru-hike covering the full 35 to 40-day route, though hikers can also tackle individual regional segments independently with GPS support given inconsistent waymarking.
Officially established in 2015 by the Jordan Trail Association, the Jordan Trail runs 675 kilometers from Umm Qais in the country's far north to Aqaba on the Red Sea in the south, passing through roughly 75 villages and towns and crossing landscapes ranging from the rolling wooded hills of northern Jordan to the rugged wadis and cliffs overlooking the Jordan Rift Valley, the rose-colored rock of Petra, the towering dune-and-mountain terrain of Wadi Rum, and finally the crystal waters of the Red Sea itself.
