Almaty Marathon in Almaty

The Almaty Marathon, held each late September since 2012, is Central Asia's largest running event, drawing over fifteen thousand runners from roughly fifty countries to a Republic Square start along Al-Farabi Avenue with constant Trans-Ili Alatau mountain views. Five formats run concurrently, from the full marathon to Nordic walking, and the event has funded more than thirty charitable community projects.
