Maralal International Camel Derby in Maralal
Kenya's best-known camel-racing festival, held annually in Maralal, Samburu County, and running for more than three decades. The programme centers on a 21-kilometer professional camel race, a shorter amateur race and a distinctive triathlon combining camel racing, running and cycling, surrounded by traditional Samburu performances, games, food stalls and craft markets drawing tens of thousands of visitors and competitors from dozens of countries.
