Safaricom Jazz Festival in Nairobi
A jazz-focused music festival running in Nairobi since its February 2014 debut at Ngong Racecourse, headlined that year by Cameroonian bassist Richard Bona. Held across venues including Uhuru Gardens and Carnivore Grounds, it has featured international jazz names alongside Kenyan artists, while consistently supporting Ghetto Classics, a community music education programme reaching hundreds of children in Nairobi's Korogocho, Huruma and Dandora neighborhoods.
The Safaricom Jazz Festival, more recently promoted under a similar branded name, has been a fixture of Nairobi's live music calendar since its inaugural edition in February 2014, when it launched at the outdoor Ngong Racecourse headlined by New York-based Cameroonian singer, composer and bassist Richard Bona.
